What is Climate Finance?

Climate finance refers to local, national, or transnational financing that seeks to support mitigation and adaptation actions that will address climate change.

The OSSAP-CFSE is the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Climate Finance & Stakeholder Engagement, NCCC. The office handles all matters relating to stakeholder/donor relations within the NCCC and helps to facilitate access to climate finance for socially impactful, low carbon and inclusive projects across Nigeria as well as coordinate climate finance activities in the country to ensure alignment with national and international priorities. Depending on the nature and size of your project, there are several potential funding opportunities including Multilateral Funds, Development Funds, Donor grants etc. Register your project with us and if the project qualifies, we will contact you for further discussions. Check the registration page for project eligibility criteria.

Letter of No Objection (NOL) and Letter of Authorization (LOA) are issued by the Designated National Authority (DNA), which is the Director General/CEO of the NCCC Secretariat. The OSSAP-CFSE helps to facilitate the process of letter issuances.

Stakeholders are key actors involved in mobilizing, managing, regulating, and benefiting from climate-related financial flows. They include government institutions, private sector actors, development partners, civil society, and communities.
